The Step-Over Turn is a soccer move that involves you as the player and a ball. It’s a simple turning move that allows you to turn away from pressure and/or an opponent. I find this turn can be used greatly when faking to pass or shoot. Try using both feet when mastered.

The Step Over Fake is the sister trick to the Step Over Turn. This trick allows you to beat a defender 1v1 and or in some space to attack. This is a good change of direction fake. The trick is best used to ‘wrong foot’ a defender by cutting in on his/her weaker side depending on the position he/she plays. Remember to go slower in to the fake and faster out of it to get away from the opponent. Practice having a shot or cross after mastering this fake.

The Reverse Cruyff turn is the sister turn to the original Cruyff Turn. This trick is performed with the same foot and executed in a similar way. The big difference is that you take the ball away with the outside of your foot, as opposed to the inside. This turn can be challenging at first but if you follow these steps, you will performing at speed in no time. Please remember a ‘turn’ trick is a turn in direction i.e back to where you came from. A ‘fake’ is a trick in which you beat and pass a defender going forwards.
